Jewar Metro Plan to Link with Airport: DMRC
Some time back, we got the news about the proposed international Jewar Airport spreading over 5000 hectares along with 3000 hectares more towards three runways. The proposed Jewar airport will be India’s largest airport as it is almost as double as IGI airport, Delhi. This airport will not be just India’s largest, but it would the world’s 4th largest airport, after;
- King Fahd International Airport – 78000 Hectares
- Denver International Airport – 13726 Hectares
- Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport – 7800 Hectares
Even if this place is going to encounter a huge turn towards the path of success and development, but the connectivity matters and that is why the DMRC has planned to introduce metro plan connecting Jewar Airport with the areas.
The YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) has determined to contribute the connectivity between Greater Noida and the proposed airport at Jewar by high-speed metro, reports said. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) would prepare a techno-economical feasibility report (TEFR) for the same to study about the plan.
However, the YEIDA officials have not officially commenced any request for proposal (RFP), but soon they will. The companies will be invited to study the means of alternative connectivity between the two airports, IGI airport, and the proposed Jewar airport.
